How to apply to study at BCUIC

Applying to study with us is easy! Simply submit your application online and our Admissions Team will contact you shortly after with a Conditional Offer.

Not sure where to start? Follow our handy step-by-step guide below.

Step 1: Choose your course

We offer 19 undergraduate pathways leading onto Bachelor's degrees at Birmingham City University and 9 postgraduate pathways leading onto Master's degrees at the University. Have a look through our programme pages to decide which course is the one for you.

Step 2: Check that you meet the entry requirements

You can check your academic eligibility by looking at our Admissions Requirements and selecting your country from the drop-down menu.

It may be the case that you are eligible to apply direct to the University, without the need to study a pathway programme with us. If you think your qualifications will enable you to do this, you can check here: www.bcu.ac.uk/international

Step 3: Submit your application

This is easily done by completing the online application form.

Step 4: Meet any conditions on your offer (if applicable)

Once our Admissions Team have processed your application, they will generate a Conditional Offer which will outline any outstanding conditions that need to be met. Once you meet all conditions, you will receive an Unconditional Offer.

Step 5: Pay your first semester’s fee

A deposit payment is required at this stage. (For a breakdown of fees per pathway programme, take a look at our fees page.)

Step 6: Receive your CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies)

You are nearing the final stage! Find out more about why a CAS is important by visiting this page on our website.

Step 7: Apply for your visa

Once your place has been confirmed and you have your CAS, you can apply for your student visa.

Step 8: Arrive

As soon as you have your visa, you should book your flight to Birmingham – and start your UK study adventure!
